1 Corinthians 3:6-9 “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.”

What’s the latest

Where has the summer gone? It seems like it flew by so quickly, and yet thankfully the Lord has granted us time to accomplish His work in this area of NE Wisconsin. We are so blessed to be a part of His purpose and plans, and we are so encouraged to experience open doors of opportunity within the area that He clearly leads us to.

Bible Studies – Our final one at the library was the end of August. This ministry has not moved forward in the ways that we anticipated, and although there is “interest”, there is little to no follow through with said interest. As a Board, we are praying and reviewing the best ways in which to share the Gospel with these people in a way that reaches them where they are at and yet reflects the mission of Woods Outreach. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated. This is at the heart of the ministry no matter what!

Language Classes – Session 3 ended on July 30th with three very fun bilingual games. Everyone had such a great time and didn’t want the evening to end. One of the students brought some Mexican sweet breads to share with the group, as well. It has been a blessing to see more of the students involved in helping one another and leading different activities. Some are expressing interest in a language trip to Spain. We are currently looking into the logistics of this and communicating with a known Spanish missionary there.

Local Events – We were able to have a booth at the local “Back to School” community carnival, reaching some 400 children with the Gospel through our school giveaways and conversations. We were also able to make contacts with some key pillars of the community, including the local radio station, a school football coach, and a school social worker. These contacts will bring us into areas that we would not otherwise be connected with and lead us to other needs/events in the community. Please pray for God’s wisdom in making contacts and for Christ’s witness to go out as we share the love of Christ with each one that we meet.

What’s ahead

LANGUAGE CLASSES

With this being our 3rd year of classes, 2nd year at the library, we want to be more effective and intentional in our teaching methods and class materials. Also, with new students coming, we will have more staff and groups according to needs.

BOARD MEETINGS

We are so thankful for the Board and for those who serve so faithfully, using their specific gifts. We meet on a regular basis with our next one in September. We praise the Lord for His wisdom and the unity within the group.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

We are planning to have a booth at the community “Baby Shower” in October;

And a Christmas event in December at the local Community Center with games, refreshments, caroling, Luke 2 story, and a candlelight service.

What’s your part

It is no small thing to be in prayer for this ministry. We could not move forward without the Lord, and we are thankful to Him for your faithfulness in caring and praying. If you are in the area, please connect with us.

Praise the Lord for good connections and conversations with the many contacts this summer.

Praise the Lord for the interest in a language trip to Spain and all the potential outreach there.

Praise the Lord for open doors of outreach into the community and surrounding area.

Pray for the new language session starting on September 3rd and those who will be attending.
