Newsletter January & February 2026
What’s the latest
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, in favor with God and men,” (Luke 2:52).
This is definitely something that each one of us should be doing if we want to follow Christ. We need to grow spiritually, mentally, emotionally and socially, and that comes through daily living. The Winter months may seem mundane to some, or dark and ever changing to others, but through it all, we can truly experience growth in every aspect of our lives if we let the Lord lead us in our daily endeavors.
MINISTRIES – January and February brought the language classes back into our regular Woods Outreach schedule. We kicked the year off with a celebration of the Dia de Reyes Magos (January 6th) organized by our Director of Operations. This is both a cultural and Biblically historic event. It is when the wisemen followed the star provided by God to bring gifts to the baby Jesus. In English speaking cultures it is called “Epiphany”, and in Latin cultures it is “Dia de los Reyes Magos”. In Spain, this has been more celebrated than Christmas when it comes to exchanging gifts – in true form to the wisemen. In other Latin cultures, it is celebrated with a sweet bread, “La Rosca” which has its own meaning and traditions attached to it. Woods Outreach was able to do both in offering gift bags to each of the students who attended the January 7th event as well as partaking of “La Rosca”.
Language Classes – We were blessed to have more new students arrive for classes in January, one from the Dominican Republic, one from the Ukraine and two from Poland. As we shared with the class about the events that Woods Outreach was involved in during December, one of the seasoned students who joined us for Christmas caroling shared her story of how she and her parents and 9 siblings would sing and take a picture in front of the town Nativity, which we did that evening some 65 years later. She was so excited when we gifted her the photos of our group and expressed in Spanish class how she and her twin sister were moved to “lagrimas”!
